Preview: Goodman's A Christmas Carol

For 31 years, A Christmas Carol has graced the stage of Chicago's Goodman Theatre. This production has become THE Christmas Carol in the Chicagoland area and this recognition has been well earned. The adaptation is very faithful to the book and features live musical performers on-stage, original music, and familiar Christmas songs. Larry Yando returns to the role of Ebeneser Scrooge playing him with all the flint and redemption that anyone could wish from the old miser.

This production has been seen by over 1 million people over the years - doing yeoman's work in representing the theatre to unsuspecting audiences. The production does no suffer from moldy old-fashioned interpretations but the tale truly lives and breathes in front of you. Several years ago, the production underwent an update that featured a new million dollar set. The money was well spent as the production is both stunning and beautiful while not appearing opulent or too expensive.

If you are looking for a night out this Holiday season, check out this gemstone of both Chicago theatre and all Christmas stories. The redemption that we all hope for in the season comes to live and will surely delight you and your family.

Happy Birthday: Bertinazzi (1710-1783) & Julie Harris (b. 1925)
