Founder of The Second City, Paul Sills, died June 1. He was also the founder of The Compass Players (the predecessor of the Second City).
Sills is responsible for creating Chicago as a Mecca of Improv Comedy. The Second City is famous for sending many of its alumni on to Saturday Night Live and Hollywood and it was Stills' vision that helped birth a new form of live entertainment.
Sills was 80.
