Monday night the St. Sebastian Players held their 16th annual Monologue Match-Up competition. 36 actors performed 2-minute monologues for eight judges. Seven actors were selected to perform in the final round. Of the seven actors, four winners were chosen - plus an Audience's Pick. The winners are as follows:1st - Bob Lindley
2nd - Amanda Oster
3rd Lauren Ashley Fisher
4th - Claudia C. Vasilovik
Audience's Choice: Rina Sobel
Runners Up: Holly Fishburn, Meghan Phillipp, and Jessie Stegner
The competitors were your normal cross section that you would find attending any Chicago non-equity audition. One wonderful brought out by the evening was every one's support of each other. There were all levels of talent and to see the audience, actors, and judges alike supporting every one's effort was refreshing. In the age of American Idol where the harshest criticism sells the most tickets, it was nice to find a healthy, encouraging, and supportive environment.
