Steppenwolf nominated for Oliver Awards

If you thought you were done hearing about this play, well you were wrong!

Steppenwolf Theatre's blockbuster hit August: Osage County continues to bring in recognition for the Chicago theatre company. The playwright Tracy Letts already won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for the play as well as the 2008 Tony Award for Best New Play. The production also won Tony's for Best Scenic Design, both actress categories, Best Director, and Best Play.

Now after selling out its run at the National Theatre (Lyttelton Theatre) in London, August: Osage County has been nominated for four Olivier Awards including the newly created category Best Company Performance. The other three categories it was nominated in are Best New Play (Tracy Letts), Best Actress (Deanna Dunagan), and Best Set Design (Todd Rosenthal). The Olivier Awards are presented on March 8, 2009.
