In the wake of open criticism of the National Endowment if the Arts, Rocco Landesman has been confirmed by the U.S. senate as the tenth chair of the NEA. Mr. Landesman is the perfect fit for the embattled NEA as he has worked in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sides of the arts and has been an advocate for promoting middle ground between the two. Theatre artists will be excited by his appointment since he has worked extensively as a Broadway producer (Angels in America and Big River) and teaches at the Yale School of Drama where he received his doctorate.
We wish Mr. Landesman the best as he begins work in his new post.
